📅 Best Time to Visit

🌦️ The Seasons

In East Africa, the long rains occur from early April to early June, and the short rains from late November to December. It is often cheaper to travel during the rainy seasons, but road conditions can be tough and access may be limited.

☀️ The Dry Season

🗓 July to October is the most popular time for safari. Parks like the Masai Mara and Serengeti can get crowded and rates go up. The weather is ideal and it’s a favorite for family vacations.

🌿 The Wet (Green) Season

If you don’t mind a little rain and love baby animals and birds 🐣🦜, this season (late November to mid-April) offers great value. Watch out for high prices over Christmas 🎄 and be ready for some heat 🔥 if rains delay.

🦍 Gorilla Trekking

You can trek to see Mountain Gorillas all year in Rwanda and Uganda. Trails are often muddy 🥾🌧, so bring a rain jacket and hiking boots. Permits are limited and cost $800  USD, so book at least 3 months in advance if you're visiting June–September.
